Manufacturing Plant

Job Purpose

To plan, coordinate, monitor, and control production activities across all manufacturing departments to ensure customer orders are completed on time with optimum utilization of manpower, machines, materials, and production capacity while maintaining quality, delivery, and inventory targets.

Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Planning

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on customer orders and delivery schedules.
• Develop production schedules for Extrusion, Anodizing, Powder Coating, Casting, Die Shop, Packing, and Dispatch.
• Ensure smooth production flow from billet preparation to finished goods.
• Prioritize production according to customer commitments and urgent requirements.
• Balance production load among available presses and production lines.
• Plan production considering machine capacity and manpower availability.
• Coordinate with Sales regarding delivery commitments.
• Ensure production plans are aligned with plant capacity.
• Review order backlog and prepare recovery plans.
• Maintain optimum production sequencing to reduce changeover losses.

Order Management

• Review customer orders before releasing them to production.
• Verify profile specifications, alloy, temper, color, finish, and length.
• Monitor order status from production release to dispatch.
• Ensure FIFO production planning wherever applicable.
• Coordinate revisions in customer orders with concerned departments.
• Minimize order delays through proactive planning.
• Monitor pending and overdue production orders.
• Prepare daily production status reports.

Capacity Planning

• Analyze available production capacity.
• Monitor machine utilization.
• Identify production bottlenecks.
• Recommend capacity improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules with Maintenance Department.
• Plan production considering planned shutdowns.
• Optimize utilization of production resources.
• Recommend overtime requirements when necessary.

Material Planning

• Coordinate raw material requirements with Procurement and Stores.
• Ensure availability of billets, dies, chemicals, powder, packing materials, and consumables.
• Prevent production stoppages due to material shortages.
• Monitor inventory levels required for production.
• Coordinate material issuance with warehouse personnel.
• Reduce excess inventory through proper planning.

Production Coordination

• Coordinate with Extrusion Department.
• Coordinate with Die Shop for die availability.
• Coordinate with Casting for billet availability.
• Coordinate with Anodizing production schedules.
• Coordinate with Powder Coating production schedules.
• Coordinate with Packing Department for timely packing.
• Coordinate with FG Store for dispatch readiness.
• Coordinate with Quality Department for inspection schedules.

Monitoring & Control

• Monitor daily production achievements against the plan.
• Analyze production variances.
• Prepare production efficiency reports.
• Track production delays and recommend corrective actions.
• Monitor WIP (Work-in-Process) inventory.
• Control production lead time.
• Improve production cycle time.
• Ensure adherence to production priorities.

Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities to improve production planning.
• Reduce production idle time.
• Improve production scheduling accuracy.
• Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
• Participate in productivity improvement projects.
• Recommend process improvements.
• Support implementation of Kaizen and 5S activities.

Communication & Coordination

• Conduct daily production planning meetings.
• Communicate production priorities to all departments.
• Coordinate with Sales, Procurement, Maintenance, Quality, Warehouse, and Dispatch.
• Escalate production issues to management promptly.
• Prepare daily management reports.

Compliance

• Ensure compliance with company SOPs.
• Follow safety regulations during planning activities.
• Maintain confidentiality of production information.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Support ISO documentation and audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration.
• MBA/Master's degree will be an added advantage.

Experience

• 6–10 years of experience in Production Planning & Control (PPC).
• Minimum 3 years in a supervisory or deputy managerial role.
• Experience in Aluminium Extrusion/Profile Manufacturing is highly preferred.
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems and production scheduling.
