Health and Safety (HSE) Trainer/ Instructor

Job Summary

Safety Skills Institute is seeking a knowledgeable, passionate, and experienced Health and Safety (HSE) Trainer/Instructor to deliver high-quality training to students and professionals. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical knowledge of occupational health and safety, excellent presentation skills, and the ability to create an engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver classroom and online Health & Safety training sessions.

Teach courses such as:

NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC)

IOSH Managing Safely

OSHA

OTHM Health & Safety Qualifications

NVQ Health & Safety Qualifications

ISO Awareness Courses

General Occupational Health & Safety Programs

Prepare lesson plans, presentations, handouts, and training materials.

Assess students through assignments, mock exams, quizzes, and practical activities.

Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.

Maintain accurate attendance and training records.

Stay updated with current HSE legislation, international standards, and industry best practices.

Support students with examination preparation and career guidance.

Ensure all training is delivered according to institute quality standards.

Assist in developing and improving training content when required.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher (preferably in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or a related discipline).

Professional Health & Safety qualifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, NVQ, OTHM, or equivalent.

Relevant HSE industry experience is preferred.

Previous teaching or training experience will be an advantage.

Skills Required

Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Strong command of spoken and written English.

Good classroom management skills.

Ability to simplify complex HSE concepts for learners.

Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.

Strong interpersonal and mentoring skills.

Professional attitude and willingness to learn.

Preferred Experience

2–5 years of Health & Safety industry and/or training experience.

Experience teaching international HSE qualifications is highly desirable.

Familiarity with adult learning methodologies and online teaching platforms is an advantage.
