Cashier
Job Purpose:
To accurately and efficiently process customer transactions and handle monetary exchanges in a friendly and professional manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service:
- Greet customers as they approach the checkout counter.
- Assist customers with product inquiries and provide guidance when necessary.
- Handle customer complaints or concerns with patience and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Processing Transactions:
- Scan and ring up items accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Accept payments in various forms (cash, credit/debit card, mobile payments).
- Issue receipts, change, and other necessary documentation to customers.
- Ensure all transactions are processed correctly and efficiently.
- Cash Handling:
- Count cash at the beginning and end of the shift to ensure proper cash flow.
- Make change accurately and monitor fake money.
- Balance the cash register and report any discrepancies to management.
- Inventory Control:
- Keep track of inventory at the cash register and notify management of low-stock or out-of-stock items.
- Assist in stock replenishment when necessary.
- Maintain Cleanliness and Organization (In Case Supervisor is not available):
- Keep the shop area clean, organized, and clutter-free.
- Ensure that registers and surrounding areas are ready for use at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Compliance: (In Case Supervisor is not Available)
- Follow company policies regarding discounts, coupons, and promotions.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations.
- Follow proper procedures for handling refunds, exchanges, and voids.
- Team Collaboration: (In case Supervisor is not available)
- Work closely with other team members to ensure smooth operations in the store.
- Assist with other tasks such as restocking or organizing merchandise when not handling customers.
- Customer feedback
- Maintenance of cash balance
- Maintenance of branch balance
- Significant Improvement of Staff Behavior with clients
- Compliance with SOPs during spot-checks
- How helpful he is with Salesman and Branch Supervisor
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum 1 to 2 of years’ experience as Cashier, or equivalent.
Demonstrated ability to lead multiple teams and meet performance targets.
Basic proficiency in record keeping (Excel, WhatsApp reporting).
Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and time management skills.
Honest, disciplined, and reliable character with customer-oriented mindset.
