Key Responsibilities

The Library Teacher is responsible for managing the school library and promoting a culture of reading, research, and information literacy among students.

The role involves maintaining library resources, supporting curriculum requirements, developing students' reading habits, and providing guidance in locating and utilizing information effectively.
The Library Teacher ensures that the library serves as an engaging learning resource center that supports academic achievement and lifelong learning
Organize, maintain, and manage the school library and its resources.
Catalog, classify, and issue books and learning materials.
Maintain accurate records of library inventory and circulation.
Ensure proper shelving and preservation of books and educational resources.
Recommend and procure new books and reference materials.
Develop and implement programs that encourage reading habits among students.
Organize reading campaigns, book fairs, storytelling sessions, and literacy activities.
Promote library services and resources throughout the school.
Encourage students to explore a variety of reading materials.
Assist students in locating books, information, and research materials.
Guide students in using library resources effectively.
Support independent learning and research skills.
Help students develop information literacy and responsible use of resources.

Qualification

Bachelor's Degree in Library Science, Information Science, Education, English, or a related field from HEC recognized University.
