Accountant

Position Overview:

The Accountant will be responsible for managing the financial health of the fast-food restaurant. This role includes overseeing accounting practices, financial reporting, budgeting, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.

Duties and Responsibilties:

• Financial Management:
• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable.
• Conduct regular reconciliations of accounts and bank statements.
• Budgeting and Forecasting:
• Develop and manage budgets.
• Prepare financial forecasts and variance analysis.
• Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts.
• Reporting:
• Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Provide financial reports to management for decision-making.
• Prepare and present financial summaries to stakeholders.
• Compliance and Auditing:
• Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards.
• Coordinate with external auditors and manage audit processes.
• Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets.
• Cost Management:
• Monitor and control costs, identifying areas for cost savings.
• Analyze financial data to support cost management initiatives.
• Taxation:
• Prepare and file tax returns in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Stay updated on tax laws and ensure the restaurant benefits from any tax advantages.
• Payroll Management:
• Oversee payroll processing and ensure timely and accurate payments.
• Manage employee benefits and deductions.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Financial Accuracy: Achieve an error rate of less than 1% in financial statements.
• Budget Management: Ensure budget variance does not exceed 5%.
• Cost Control: Implement cost-saving measures to reduce expenses by at least 10%.
• Compliance: Maintain 100% compliance with all financial regulations.
• Cash Flow Management: Keep DSO under 30 days and DPO under 45 days.
• Audit Performance: Ensure no major findings in external audits and address 100% of audit recommendations.
• Payroll Accuracy: Maintain a payroll error rate of less than 0.5%.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) preferred.
• Proven experience in accounting/finance roles, preferably in the food service industry.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
